The environmental situation in Kuwait was discussed by the Parliamentary Environment Affairs Committee in the presence of officials of the Ministry of Works and Health and EPA, and the Committee's deputy rapporteur said. Mohammed Al-Huwela, in a statement to the information centre of the National Assembly, said that there was considerable overlap in the competences of the environmental supervisory authorities, The Commission considered it its duty to require government bodies to define their responsibilities so that they could deal with these issues

It was agreed that coordination meetings would be held between the industry authority and the Ministry of Works in the presence of the environment authority to resolve the issue of sewage systems until such networks were handed over from work to the industry authority

Those bodies had been given one month to provide the Committee with the results, and the Committee would therefore resume discussion of the matter
