WILD LIFE 

Al Doha  reserve   is one of the Kuwaiti   reserves that   is located aligned to  Soulybekhat  bay North of the Amusement Park , Latitude 22-29 N and Longitude 47-49 E.

It was allocated as a natural reserve at 1988 and  at  late 1989 Inspection and Monitoring  of wildlife  began .

Due to the  fact  being near the bay,   Al Doha  reserve   depends on  seawater ,  outlets of chalets  and  the   amusement Park cloaca ( tractile) as sources of water  that   nourishes Al Reed plant and others  .

For having mud flats that are rich in organic matters Al Doha reserve   is classified as one of the wetland reserves   therefore  it is considered  a great nursery for different kinds of crustaceans and fish as well as a great shelters and nourishment for many kinds of birds .

TYPES OF SOIL IN Al  DOHA  RESERVE 

  • Sandy soil covered with shells
  • Clay soil
  • Sandy soil
  • Salty height soil

Overall the reserve soil is marsh and therefore  plants  found are salinity tolerant , accompanied with muddy flat plain that is covered by  local plants  it became an appropriate environment for some birds ,,,which led to Imposition of Protection by fencing the reserve and putting signboards to prevent the public in addition to guardianship 24/7 .

WILD LIFE IN AL DOHA RESEVE

*  PLANTS :

Al Doha reserve is considered  poor as for wild plant life except for salinity tolerant plants such as theet ,anabasis, soadh,al haram, reed ,halophyte,  some Mesbryanthemumsaldtia , and some plants grows after raining such as Heliathemum,Nurada .

*  BIRDS :

The listed coastal birds in Al-Doha reserve came up to 70 kind mostly seen during bird migration in winter such as  Gray Heron Bird , Heron Rock , Big Flamingo , Shelduck, Eagle ,Seagulls,Thin peak ,Kentish Plover , Little Ringed Plover and Al Hankor .

*  REPTILES :

Lizards ,Dubbs ,AL Agama and Snakes .

*  INSECTS:

Butterflies, Locust, Hemianax  and  Beetles .

*  MAMLES :

Rats, Foxes and Gerbils
